Shasta College Title III Strengthening
Institutions Grant

Shasta College was founded in 1947 and is a comprehensive community college located in Redding, California. With outreach facilities serving an 18,000 square mile rural district, it is the largest geographical region in the California Community College system. The northern area of California has some of the poorest communities in the state. Because of this, many of our students do not have access to the technology that will make them competitive in today's workplace, and the school has not been able to keep up with changes in technology that would help our students succeed. To address these problems, Shasta College actively sought and received a Title III Grant through the U.S. Department of Education. From 2000 through 2005, the College will receive approximately $1.7 million to develop our academic and administrative computer services through two main activities.
