Where is the Writing Center?

The Writing Center is located in the Shasta College Learning Resources Center, at the top of the stairs in room 208.   We also have a space for quiet individual tutoring in room 205.  An elevator provides handicap access.

 What is the Writing Center?
The Writing Center is a resource for all writers, not just students working on English papers. We encourage students from all courses--as well as community members--to take advantage of what we have available.

Writers may make appointments to work with a tutor in a one-on-one, writer-to-writer tutoring session at any point in the writing process, from brainstorming for a topic, to making revisions, to final editing.

The Writing Center also provides computers for word processing and research purposes and offers workshops and resources for writers. Since many people are new to word processing and the Internet, we offer Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Email workshops on a one-to-one basis. Our bookshelves are lined with dictionaries, thesauruses, readers, handbooks, and style guides.

The Shasta College Writing Center truly is a writer's resource, where all writers are welcome.
